YCHECK 3.0 from SRD-soft
91-02-19
-----------------------------------
Purpose: Makes BULL of yesterdays and/or todays activity on a
Wildcat 3.x BBS, starting with this version unwanted
results will appear with use on earlier versions
including the TD.
Why another program you say, well all the other programs
I came across states in their manual: This is shareware,
pay this and that if you use it... I dont want to pay
so instead I wrote my own, and this one is FREE as long
as you dont sell it for profit.
The author: My name is S|ren Frid, and I'm living in Sweden, was
running a Wildcat board with 4 nodes, been running Wildcat
since version 1.0 back in 87 simply because it's the best.
These days I'm not running it, but I quite can't stop
anyway, maybe I reopen some time in the future..
These days you can find the latest version of YCHECK on
PRIMO BBS, please leave bugreports or wishlists
there too. I still call Mustang HQ sometimes, so I guess
you can reach me there too.
PRIMO BBS - +46 491 84102 - 300/1200/2400 - Soon HST
How it works: It reads the ACTIVITY.XXX for at this point up to
3 nodes and writes the info in specified files.
YCHECK doesn't handle filesharing so if you have more than
1 node things CAN go wrong.
It reads ONLY the ACTIVITY.XXX no other files, neither
does it write to any files except the BULLS.
Setup: There is a built in setup in YCHECK just enter
YCHECK /Setup and you'll be prompted with a couple
of questions.
The result is saved in a file called YCHECK.CFG and
is saved in working DIR, for those who interested
it should look like this:
3 <--- Number of nodes (max 3)
V:\VC1\ACTIVITY.LOG <--- Path to node 1 log
K:\WC3\BULL\BULL7 <--- Path to node 1 bulletin
Q:\WC2\ACTIVITY.LOG <--- Path to node 2 log
K:\WC3\BULL\BULL8 <--- Path to node 2 bulletin
K:\WC3\ACTIVITY.LOG <--- Path to node 3 log
K:\WC3\BULL\BULL9 <--- Path to node 3 bulletin
Y <--- Or N if you define colors
<--- Rest of the lines are the
color codes
Parameters Add them (one at the time) like : YCHECK /param
SETUP = Setup YCHECK for your board.
ALL = Makes bull of your COMPLETE log, not just yesterday.
TODAY = YCHECK checks what happened on your board so far
today. If you use this YCHECK only reads log for
the first node in CFG-file (ie Node 1), so if you
have more than one node you have to use several
copys of YCHECK and the CFG files.
Future: It's a lot that could be done with the program, file-
locking/sharing, faster execution. Use the new @ codes
instead of having a SCR file. Don't know now what and
when things will happen...
Known bugs For some reason the colors are not displayed right during
setup.
